The Njiko Igbo Forum, NIF, has backed the industrial action declared by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, over the removal of fuel subsidy as it accused President Muhammadu Buhari of running a government of fraud.
According to the President of NIF, Rev. Okechukwu Obioha he said the Buhari-led government does not have regard for the rule of law as it has on numerous occasions disregarded court order.
Obioha said “we can’t be talking of any court injunction because this is a government that does not respect rule of law.
“It has flouted so many judgments and orders of court; so we can’t be here talking about the black-market injunction obtained by the AGF.
“Courts of competent jurisdiction gave orders for the release of Nnamdi Kanu as well as Sambo Dasuki but the government never obeyed it; the President started giving reason why the order will not be obeyed; there is also order against electricity tariff increase, it was never obeyed.
“So, we are calling on all Nigerians to sit at home in protest; all the desperate measures by government to stop the strike should not be allowed.
“It is even quite curious that this same government is now recognizing Ajaero faction; the situation is like a lady who is good for friendship but not good for marriage. These are desperate measures.
“the government is confused; it has no direction; that’s why they don’t want anybody to talk. We are no longer practising democracy, we have a pseudo-military administration.
